How did meditation change you and your behavior?
Written by admin on May 17, 2012 – 3:48 am -This question is for those who have meditated for a long time now. How were you before you meditated and how are you now after meditating for a while? Are you more of a positive person? Were you a smoker but decided to quit? Are you more aware of surroundings? Etc? I am very interested on how meditation changes a person personality and brain behaviors. I’ve been practicing meditation for about 3 weeks now, and I have noticed myself being more calm and relax.
Thank you for your time.
In my case, it has made me less angry, less fearful, less stressed, more happier, more positive and many other benefits, I’ve been meditating for the past 4 years.
This is the practice that I primarily follow, Mindfulness of breathing and Loving-Kindness Meditation.

Meditation ~ What are the main obstacles faced while trying to meditate ?
Written by admin on May 14, 2012 – 3:00 am -True meditation is achieving a state of no-mind. But while attempting to meditate, the mind wanders and chatters and does everything possible to prevent you from achieving that state.
What are the remedies undertaken by you to overcome such obstacles? Please explain.
? DN ?,
Attention; to-attend; to be there. Attend the gap.
In both in breath and out breath at the moment it changes direction it must stop and turn around. It happens so fast it gets little attention. The object of watching the breath is to catch that moment. Only awareness is present in that moment; no mind; no consciousness, no body. With practice the attention remains focused on the gap for longer periods of time. Eventually the silent gap between thoughts increases and the nervous system comes to rest as in mediation.
As I see it the biggest obstetrical, in this fast pace world, is the discipline of sitting down every day at the same time in quite surroundings for yourself, by yourself and for yourself. In the end the ironic thing is the realization is there is no self when the false ego idea is disarmed in the gap.

What can deep meditation do for your body?
Written by admin on January 17, 2012 – 8:31 pm -Can people give me real stories of deep meditation? and can i have tips for meditation? As soon as i find myself empty minded my body goes numb and tingley, is this normal?
Everyone experiences meditation differently. If you do not currently have a meditation guide, perhaps you should join one of the many discussion forums and communicate with others about their experiences. I don’t go numb and tingly, but I lose total awareness of my body — almost as if it doesn’t exist, so perhaps your "sensations" are a prelude to this…or you’re pinching a nerve in your meditation position.

What is the highest level of meditation?
Written by admin on January 6, 2012 – 5:23 am -I understand that one must start with very basic meditations on mindfulness, single focus and being at one with the self etc. However, I have heard that once becoming master at meditation, you can reach higher levels of consciousness and get to basically the form of self. Does anyone know what this means? What is the highest level of meditations?
There is no such highest or lowest levels in meditations. This distinction between the “effortful” and the “effortless” points to the contrast between skills employed during the state and traits developed as practice progresses.
Meditation is a mind-body practice in complementary and alternative medicine (CAM). There are many types of meditation, most of which originated in ancient religious and spiritual traditions. Generally, a person who is meditating uses certain techniques, such as a specific posture, focused attention, and an open attitude toward distractions. Meditation may be practiced for many reasons, such as to increase calmness and physical relaxation, to improve psychological balance, to cope with illness, or to enhance overall health and well-being.
The practices alone decides. Full focus, full attention, and effort makes good in meditation.

What type of meditation retreat would be a good one to attend for your first time?
Written by admin on January 3, 2012 – 9:59 pm -My wife is interested in going on a retreat for meditation to balance her life more. The one she finds most common is that of Vipassana Meditation. I’ve heard good things and bad things, like it’s cult-ish and controlling. I’ve also heard that it’s not the best type of meditation to practice for your 1st retreat. Is there a type of meditation retreat that you can recommend for someone’s first time, or should I just go with Vipassana. Thanks!
Try the flotation tank meditation… God 4 beginners

How to achieve an altered state through meditation?
Written by admin on December 11, 2011 – 8:35 pm -I am interested in meditation for the altered state of awareness that many claim to experience because of it. I am a Buddhist but I am also a psychonaut always looking for different ways to alter consciousness and explore my mind. From what I’ve heard, the altered state provided by meditation can be very profound and insightful, and this is "right up my alley," so to speak. Can anyone describe it and/or give tips on how to reach it?
Any information regarding this would be much appreciated.
